As a fellowship we adhere to the doctrinal basis as set out below:
- The existence of one God in three persons – The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
- God: Our Creator, Father and the Author of our salvation. He is supreme, ultimate love, all knowing, powerful, just and impartial. He is a God that listens to His people and deserves our obedience and to be worshipped by all.
- Jesus: The second person of the trinity and Son of God. Our Redeemer, Saviour and God in the flesh. He is the way, truth and the life. He died for the sin of man, rose from the dead and will return again in glory. He taught a transformed, holy lifestyle and intercedes to the Father on our behalf.
- Holy Spirit: God in us. He was present at creation, Jesus promised He would not leave us alone. He would come to us in the person of the Holy Spirit, our Helper in time of need. The Holy Spirit is the arm of God who indwells us at conversion and then transforms, teaches, convicts, leads, empowers and comforts believers.
- The fallen, sinful and lost state of all people.
- The salvation of men and women from the guilt, penalty and power of sin through the perfect obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
- The necessity, in order to know salvation, of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The resurrection of the dead, and the final judgement of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament. The Bible is the foundation of our faith, of our church and our services.
- The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
- Baptism being the immersion of believers upon the personal profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, and a symbol of spiritual death, burial and resurrection in the life of the believer.
- The Lords supper being a memorial, until Jesus comes, of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The church as the people of God, the body and bride of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit.
- The call to ministry in the church and in the world, including the ministries of the word, pastoral care, mutual ministry, discipleship, evangelism, local missions and cross-cultural world mission.
